“Star-gazer using GPS”
VITO AstroNavigator II offers you a map of the night skies and much more. Not only can you learn about the stars (there are 9000 of them), planets and view constellations scrolling through space and reading facts as you go. But also, by using GPS technology VITO AstroNavigator II allows you to view the exact area of space above your head at any point in time. It does this by taking the co-ordinates from wherever you are standing.
The picture may be a bit different to what you can see due to light pollution, cloud cover or poor sight as the constellations are very clear. If you don't have GPS don't worry because the software also enables you to point to a location on a map, which then returns your chosen section of sky. Although less accurate it still returns all the celestial bodies you could hope for. As a resource AstroNavigator II is a great tool for anyone interested in astronomy. Although sometimes it feels like space is just too big to squeeze onto the screen of a mobile.
Great astronomical resource taking advantage of GPS-technology.
